Meeting began at 12:15 pm at the Dania Beach Lions Club with Board and Chapter members present:

President Clive Taylor, Treasurer Clare Frost, Secretary Linda Gardner, Curt Delanoy, Howard Alexander, Garrett Gardner, Gary Matijevich, Herb “Metalflake” and Pat Jebb, Gary McGoron, Mark “Torch” Tortora, Dave Clemens, Tony Thackham, Sherry and Albert Owler, Clive Taylor Jr, Alex MacKenzie, Greg Hauswirth, Wally Allen, and Donna Wood.

Minutes of the last meeting were reviewed and approved as written.

Membership Report:

Membership is currently at 96.

Chapter Business:

A motion was made to appoint Gary McGoron to the board to replace outgoing Board member Penny Anderson, and to the new role of Road Captain, the motion was approved and he accepted.

A motion was made to retain the absent Board members, Roy Wasson, Bob Anderson, Robert Brandner, Fred Sutton, and William Tracy, and to keep the current officers: President Clive Taylor, Vice-President Wes Scott, Secretary Linda Gardner, and Treasurer Clare Frost.  Motion was approved.

The Newsletter Editor position formerly held by Jacqueline Scott was accepted by Mark “Torch” Tortora.

The Wauseon AMCA National meeting reports were provided to the Everglades Board members. Highlights were provided in the meeting.

Miscellaneous Discussions:

President Clive Taylor proposed the creation of a Chapter committee to select charities to donate the Chapters proceeds. More details to follow.

A date was set for the upcoming Snake Road ride 11/7 with a rain date of 11/14. More details will be announced via email including a pre-ride meet location. Lunch was proposed to be hosted at Roland’s Tiki Hut which has plenty of parking and is biker friendly.

The annual Lake Okeechobee ride may be changed or skipped this year. The Sunshine Chapter may not participate and the Everglades Chapter members are considering a different route.

Given the date of the Snake Road ride in November an additional November ride may not be feasible.

A ride in the West Palm-Boca Raton area has been suggested by Jeff Alperin in December. The Chapter members present preferred it be a Saturday ride vs a Sunday ride. More details to follow via email.

The Everglades Chapter proposed providing membership cards.

Volunteers were requested for the Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle show and 4 members accepted.

The Chapter may have a new Web Master as Mark “Torch” has volunteered!

Chapter member Alex MacKenzie announced the Black Sunday Vintage Swap Meet will be held on November 29 at the Jackie Gleason Theater in South Beach.  The venue is behind the Theater in a gated area. There will be Food Trucks and free bike parking. Check out the link in the upcoming events section. 

Reminder that Café 27 has breakfast at 8am on Sundays.

Somber Note: Phil Peterson of Peterson’s Harley Davidson in Miami has passed away. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and friends.
